An installation in the artist’s studio April – June 2020.
This project imagined the data generated by ‘WFH’ being used to produce a ‘line of best fit’ to attempt to make sense of my activities in my studio. I worked in the growing installation for several months this year. As it grew it filled the space, changing the way I made art, taught and worked with others. It became an ever-changing backdrop to Zoom, threaded its way through social media posts, and also became an art-work shared with my immediate neighbourhood through the studio windows.
The installation was part of a research project which used ideas from drawing to imagine participation in global networked computational systems sometimes known as the ‘cognisphere‘. The research led to a series of installations exploring the possibilities which emerge when thinking about non-participating yet influential agents as forms of ‘negative space’.
